Goal of the game is to gain the highest amount of cash by trading shares representing all the participating teams of the Euro 2004 football competition.
In the end only the shares of the european champion will be worth 100 per share.
Every player starts with 10 shares of each team and a total amount of 1000 cash.
By selling and buying one can gain shares and or cash.The final result will be:
Your cash + 100 * the number of shares owned of the winning team.
Remember shares of all other teams have no value in the end! The system works like any normal stockexchange one can place orders to buy or sell shares. One can not sell shares without owning them and one can not order to buy shares for a certain amount if that amount is not available in cash.
The game starts in april 2004.
The game stops two days after the final whistle has been blown (july 6).
Joining
Use the create new user link on the homepage. A popup window will open en ask you for your username, password and the email address. You need to give a valid email address here. After the username has been checked an email is send to you containing a link you need to use to activate yourself as a new player. This activation form will ask you for a player name this is the name used in the ranking. Your email address will not be used for any other purpose than sending you your login information.
Loging in
Use the login menu option on the left side. Give your username and password. Make sure you have cookies enabled in your webbrowser. After you have successfully logedin you can access your portfolio page an give buy and sell orders.
Playing
By trading shares you can make a profit by selling them for more than you have paid for them. The price people pay for a share depends on the chance they estime the team has in winning the european championships.
Selling
Login to the site and go to your portfolio. Use the sell option on the row representing the share you want to sell.
Enter the amount of shares you want to sell. Enter the minimal price you want for each share.
If you don't care about te price but just want to get rid of them no matter what you can sell them for any price.
The order will be checked and if all is fine accepted and proccessed.
The stockexchange will try to resolve your sell order at the highest possible rate. If there are no buyers in the market the order will stay open until expired and or a buy order is placed which matches your sell order.
If you choose to sell at any price it might be that the only one buying is offering allmost nothing (ea 0.01).
Buying
From the protfolio use the buy button.
Enter the amount of shares you want to buy. Enter the maximal price you want to pay for each share.
The order will be checked and if all is fine accepted and proccessed.
The stockexchange will try to resolve your buy order at the lowest possible rate. If there are no sellers in the market the order will stay open until expired and or a sell order is placed which matches your buy order.
